Bob Dylan song, Make You Feel My LoveI really like the Adele version, so thats why this one’s up. This song is beautiful. you can picture God singing this to you.
When the rain
Is blowing in your face
And the whole world
Is on your case
I could offer you
A warm embrace
To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows
And the stars appear
And there is no one there
To dry your tears
I could hold you
For a million years
To make you feel my love
I know you
Haven’t made
Your mind up yet
But I would never
Do you wrong
I’ve known it
From the moment
That we met
No doubt in my mind
Where you belong
I’d go hungry
I’d go black and blue
I’d go crawling
Down the avenue
No, there’s nothing
That I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love
The storms are raging
On the rolling sea
And on the highway of regret
Though winds of change
Are throwing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing
Like me yet
I could make you happy
Make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends
Of the Earth for you
To make you feel my love

randomly listened to an ashley parker angel song today. and the lyrics are super lame. he’s really terrible i don’t know why i liked him. i guess i was just obsessed with Otown back in the day. but anyway, this song can be my new anthem.
Got no way of knowing exactly where I’m going,
But I feel so alive.
Everything is changing, life is rearranging,
But I feel so alive

here is the post from john mark himself about the crowder cover of how he loves, and the lyric change that is causing quite a stir!
please read john’s thoughts here:
http://johnmarkmcmillan.blogspot.com/2009/09/how-he-loves-david-crowder-and-sloppy.html
“HEAVEN meets EARTH like a sloppy wet kiss”
The idea behind the lyric is that the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of earth converge in a way that is both beautiful and awkwardly messy. Think about the birth of a child, or even the death of Jesus himself. These miracles are both incredibly beautiful and incredibly sloppy (“gory” may be more realistic, but “Heaven meets earth like a gory mess” didn’t seem to have the same ring). Why does the church have such a problem with things being sloppy? Do we really think we’re fooling anyone on Sunday morning, especially God? Are we going to offend him? I mean, he’s seen us naked in the shower all week and knows our worst thoughts, and still thinks we’re awesome. What if we took all the energy we spent faking and used that energy to enjoy the Lord instead? That could be revolutionary!
and to reference my old post on this topic not too long ago:

i’m rather agreeing with his feelings that, jeez why is everyone so gosh darn uptight, that this beautiful imagery wouldn’t be allowed in church or on the radio or whatever. its kinda ridiculous.

adele is so cool. i love this video and this song. i can’t stop listening to her music (when it comes up on pandora) and sometimes just on youtube instead. seriously, soon, soon, i’ll buy her album. i promise. just so wary of spending money these days.

“Let That Be Enough”
I wish I had what I needed
To be on my own
‘Cause I feel so defeated
And I’m feeling alone
And it all seems so helpless
And I have no plans
I’m a plane in the sunset
With nowhere to land
And all I see
It could never make me happy
And all my sand castles
Spend their time collapsing
Let me know that You hear me
Let me know Your touch
Let me know that You love me
And let that be enough
It’s my birthday tomorrow
No one here could know
I was born this Thursday
And I feel stuck
Watching history repeating
Yeah, who am I?
Just a kid who knows he’s needy
Let me know that You hear me
Let me know Your touch
Let me know that You love me
And let that be enough
one of the greatest switchfoot songs. its neat to me that you can have music for a very long time, but one day, the song suddenly pertains to your circumstance, and then you discover it in a whole new light. this songs speaks to my situation in life.

new cd coming from DC*B soon. unfortunately, they covered “how he loves”. uugggghh. i listened to it, go listen to it on myspace. its terrible. haha. i like crowder band but they butchered the song. and they even changed the words! leave it to kim walker, or the man himself, john mark mcmillan. >>>![]()

I’ve probably said it before, but the C.S. Lewis song by Brooke Fraser is like the best song I think I’ve ever heard. The entire thing is so FULL of such powerful words and meaning. It really doesn’t get any better than this song. and even the instruments. captivating. the snare drum. dude. EPIC.
i don’t understand why star 99.1 doesn’t play her music, as well as hillsong stuff. they are leaps and bounds above the stupid stuff on the radio, cheesy overdone songs that just repeat everything.
here is real creativity and superb songwriting. and not even just within Christian culture. songwriting on the whole.
i play her music at work and everyone is always like, ‘who’s this, she’s cool!” and i’m like, yeah, she’s from down under.
lyrics for C.S. Lewis Song
If I find in myself desires nothing in this world can satisfy
I can only conclude that I was not made for here
If the flesh that I fight is at best only light and momentary
Then of course I’ll feel nude when to where I’m destined I’m compared
CHORUS
Speak to me in the light of the dawn
Mercy comes with the morning
I will sigh and with all creation groan
As I wait for hope to come for me
Am I lost or just less found,
On the straight or on the roundabout of the wrong way?
Is this a soul that stirs in me,
Is it breaking free, wanting to come alive?
CHORUS
Bridge
For we, we are not long here
Our time is but a breath
So we better breathe it
And I, I was made to live
I was made to love
I was made to know you
Hope is coming for me
CHORUS
