as i crack open my sobe energy drink, and try to get my bag of combos open, to devour their pizza-y taste, i can’t help but write down how impressed i am by random generosity. just a few minutes ago i did not have these things in my possession. however, after entering the c-store and wandering aimlessly, Tim Song offered to pay for me! i’m really touched, honestly.

i guess i feel like the people i see on a daily basis, we share our lives and our stuff, and so maybe if there is generosity there, why i don’t notice it.

but being offered stuff for no good reason, i didn’t do anything to deserve him paying for me, at least i don’t think.  so anyway, props to Tim Song for making my night and consequently renewing my faith in the term generosity in this greed filled culture. it may have not meant much to him, he may not have had to make any sacrifices to offer to pay for me, but i know i sure needed God to provide for me, and time and again, He’s come through.

in a time where i feel like i’m giving and giving and serving and getting nowhere and running out of my own, to receive has felt just so RIGHT, needed, and appreciated.

i hope i can look for ways to be generous even when i don’t have anything. like deb says, “it isn’t generosity if you can afford it”
